FROM PRESS RELEASE

Murfreesboro, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee baseball team announces the 2021 schedule, which features 32 home games at Reese Smith Jr. Field and four more within the Tri-Star State.

“The schedule has been done for a year, but has been changed everyday for the last month,” said Head Coach Jim Toman.

Baseball will return to the ‘Boro for the first time since March 11, 2020 with eight straight home games, beginning on Feb. 19 with a four-game series against first time foe, Oakland.

The Reese will play host to Conference USA opponents Rice (Apr. 1-3), UAB (Apr. 23-25), LA Tech (Apr. 30 – May 2), and FIU (May 14-16) to round out conference play.

“Conference USA added eight conference games to our schedule,” said Toman “So we don’t have nearly as many mid-week games this year, but we do have eight conference doubleheaders on Saturdays and Saturday doubleheaders against Oakland and Valparaiso.”

The Raiders will travel to UAB (Mar. 26-28), UTSA (Apr. 9-11), rival WKU (Apr. 16-18), and the most recent C-USA Tournament Champion, Southern Miss (May 7-9).

C-USA proves to be one of the toughest conferences for college baseball, posting five teams in the top-100 RPI rankings in the shortened 2020 season.

The C-USA tournament will take place on May 26-30 in Ruston, Louisiana at the new J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park.

The continued presence of COVID-19 will most likely cause this spring’s schedule to change as the season progresses. For the latest scheduling updates and information, stay tuned to all MT Baseball social media channels throughout the season.
