Binghamton has announced a new 60 million dollar baseball complex which will be the marquee baseball stadium in the Northeastern part of the country.
Here are the highlights
- · Record $60 million gift for new baseball stadium complex at Binghamton University (N.Y.)
- · Anonymous donor family fully funded the project
- · Largest cash gift in school history (by tenfold)
- · 84,000-square-foot facilities include two-story clubhouse, press box, VIP suites, fan amenities, umpire locker rooms and indoor training facility (everything will be new except for the playing surface)
- · Seating for 2,450 (reserved seating plus turf berm down left field line)
- · Clubhouse features locker room, batting tunnels, athletic training, strength and conditioning, coaches’ offices, meeting rooms, study lounge
- · Construction to start Spring 2020 with tentative completion aimed at Spring 2021
- · Phase 2 of project to include adjacent indoor training facility with regulation turf infield and four story ceiling. Still in design stages now with completion date aimed at Spring 2022
- · New facility will meet standards to host NCAA Regionals
- · Head Coach Tim Sinicki (600+ career wins, 6x America East Coach of the Year) begins his 28th year at University and is currently the 10th-longest tenured coach in NCAA Division I baseball
- · Binghamton baseball has captured a combined 10 America East regular season and tournament titles in the last 13 years (no America East team has won more) and has advanced to NCAA Regionals three times in last seven years. The Bearcats were picked to win the 2020 America East regular season title.
