A name that has become very familiar throughout college baseball the past two seasons is Heston Kjerstad.
After being taken n the 36th round of the 2017 MLB Draft by the Seattle Mariners, Kjerstad has gone on to have two really good seasons at Arkansas.
In 2018 he hit .332 with 62 runs scored, 16 doubles, 14 home runs, and 58 RBI in 69 games.
As a sophomore he hit .331 with 49 runs scored, 11 doubles, 15 home runs, and 46 RBI in 60 games.
The 6-foot-3 lefty slugger has a career OBP at Arkansas of .414 and has proven he can hit the ball to all fields.
My only question with Kjerstad is whether or not he sticks in a corner outfield spot or moves to first base. Whatever the case I think he’ll be a solid defender.
But there isn’t much questioning his hit tool that will make him a first-round selection in the 2020 MLB Draft.
