WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Monmouth University Baseball and Head Coach Dean Ehehalt have released the 2020 schedule, complete with a 52-game slate and 24 MAAC contests. The season kicks off on February 14 in Cary, NC.
MU opens the year in Cary, NC with opening day set for February 14 against NJIT. The weekend continues with a doubleheader against Bucknell Saturday before wrapping Sunday against Big 10-member Penn State. The following weekend has the Hawks in South Carolina for a three-game set with Wofford before the Blue and White will travel across the country to wrap up February with a weekend series at the University of San Diego.
Upon returning to the Northeast, MU goes to George Washington from March 6-8 and will hit the Garden State for the first time on March 10 at Rutgers. The final weekend before conference play takes Monmouth through Richmond, VA for matchups with UConn, Harvard, and the host Spiders. Pre-conference play concludes on March 17th and 18th with a pair of games at Maryland Eastern Shore.
The 2020 MAAC slate begins at home on March 21st and 22nd against Saint Peter’s, part of a four-game homestand to start play in West Long Branch with Hofstra coming to town the following Tuesday. The first MAAC road series is at Siena before Coach Ehehalt’s squad wraps up March with a visit from Big East foe Seton Hall.
After a midweek visit to Princeton, the Hawks host Quinnipiac on April 4th and 5th before a run of non-league games through the bye weekend. MAAC action resumes on April 18th at Manhattan, and the Hawks play Wagner in between another league series, this one at home against Iona. May holds the final three MAAC weekends of the regular season, with trips to Niagara and Rider with a home set against Canisius in between.
The 2020 MAAC Tournament will take place at Richmond County Bank Ballpark on Staten Island, NY for the third consecutive year from May 20-23.
