Just outside of the Top 10 is Louisville starting pitcher Reid Detmers.
As a freshman in 2018 he had a 4.85 ERA in 55.2 innings (8 starts) with 69 strikeouts and a WHIP of 1.46.
That summer he posted a 4.55 ERA in 27.2 innings in the Cape Cod League with 29 strikeouts and a WHIP of 1.37.
He really took off as a sophomore for Louisville with a 2.78 ERA in 113.1 innings with 167 (167!!!) strikeouts and a WHIP of just 0.92.
Detmers spent part of this last summer with the USA Collegiate National team where he showed off his low-90s fastball. But his best pitch may be the curveball.
The 6-foot-2 lefty has a chance to go much higher than the 32nd round (where he was taken in 2017 by the Atlanta Braves) in this year’s draft.
