Jacob Palisch has been up-and-down in his first two years at Stanford, but a great summer in the Cape Cod League can do wonders for your draft stock.
As a freshman he worked strictly out of the bullpen for Stanford and posted a 1.77 ERA in 45.2 innings with 36 strikeouts and a WHIP of 0.99.
He played in the West Coast League that summer and did not look great in 10 innings giving up 12 hits and 6 earned runs with 10 strikeouts.
Palisch went 5-2 in his sophomore season at Stanford as they moved him from starter to reliever. But the overall numbers were not great with a 4.79 ERA and 1.56 WHIP in 56 innings with 48 strikeouts.
But he went to the Cape this past Summer and dominated in 6 starts allowing just 3 earned runs on 24 hits and 3 walks in 35 innings with 38 strikeouts.
The 6-foot-5 lefty has the frame, mechanics, and stuff to be an elite pitching prospect.
