Vanderbilt players have often been scattered throughout this list, and we add another with talented pitcher Jake Eder.
The 6-foot-4 lefty was taken in the 34th round of the 2017 MLB Draft by the New York Mets.
In his freshman season he made 11 appearances and posted a 5.45 ERA striking out 37 batters in 33 innings.
That summer he made 5 starts in the New England Collegiate League and posted a 4.68 ERA with 34 strikeouts in 25 innings.
As a sophomore at Vanderbilt he worked strictly out of the bullpen and posted a 2.97 ERA in 39.1 innings with 41 strikeouts and 4 saves.
He followed that up with a 1.20 ERA in 15 innings at the Cope Cod League this past summer in 4 appearances (3 starts) with 15 strikeouts.
We’ll see whether or not Vanderbilt pushes him back into an already stacked starting rotation or keeps him in the bullpen. Either way, he has one of the best arms in college baseball.
