SEATTLE — The Seattle University baseball team and head coach Donny Harrel announced the 2020 schedule on Friday, which included 27 home dates at Bannerwood Park.

“We are really excited to release our schedule with some tough and new opponents for the season,” said Harrel, who enters his 11th season with the program. “Every one of our non-conference games will be a battle and should prepare us well for another competitive season in the WAC.”

The 55-game slate features seven games against teams who appeared in last season’s NCAA Tournament and six programs that finished in the top 100 in RPI.

Seattle U will open the year at home with a three-game series beginning on Feb. 14 as it host Creighton. The Bluejays were crowned BIG EAST champions last season before reaching the final game of the Corvallis Regional during the 2019 NCAA Tournament. Additional non-conference home dates include meetings with Pacific (Feb. 28-Mar.1), Merrimack (Mar.13-15), Lewis-Clark State (Mar. 31-Apr. 1) and Portland (May 5-6).

On Feb. 21, the Redhawks will face the first of four Pac-12 opponents when they take on USC at the Tony Gwynn Legacy in San Diego. SU then go to Oregon State on April 7 before Oregon visit the Emerald City on May 11. Highlighting the set is a home-and-home series with Washington. The crosstown battle will open with Seattle U visiting the Huskies on April 14 before hosting 11 days later.

In addition to USC, the Redhawks will face host San Diego (Feb. 22) and Southern Illinois (Feb. 23) at the Tony Gwynn Legacy. Other non-conference road dates include trips to Boise State (Mar. 6-8) and Portland (Mar. 25).

Seattle U opens the Western Athletic Conference schedule at home with a three-game series against UTRGV (Mar. 20-22). The Redhawks then visit Sacramento State (Mar. 27-29) for the first of eight road WAC series, before returning to The Golden State five days later to face California Baptist (Apr. 3-5).

Three-game home sets with Grand Canyon (Apr. 9-11) and CSU Bakersfield (Apr. 24-26) then sandwich a visit to Utah Valley (Apr. 17-19).

The Redhawks closeout the regular season with 12 games in the month of May, beginning with a trip to Chicago State (May 1-3). Seattle U then caps its home schedule against Northern Colorado (May 8-10) before trekking to New Mexico State (May 14-16) for the final regular season series.

The WAC Tournament will return Hohokam Stadium in Mesa, Arizona for the 2020 installment and will take place May 20-24.
