Miami, Fla. right-handed pitcher Chris McMahon comes in at 59 on our Top 100 Countdown.
McMahon was taken by the Atlanta Braves in the 33rd round of the 2017 MLB Draft out of high school but couldn’t be persuaded to skip college.
As a freshman in 2018 he posted a 4.44 ERA in just 26 innings with 18 strikeouts and a WHIP of 1.29.
This past season he was limited to just 9 starts and posted a 4.10 ERA in 48 innings with 53 strikeouts and a WHIP of 1.24.
The key for McMahon is just staying healthy and staying on the field. We know he has the talent to be a high draft pick.
He look great in the fall for Miami throwing 5 innings in their Green and Orange World Series allowing just 1 runs on 3 hits. McMahon was named Co-Pitcher of the Series along with Slade Cecconi.
We’re hoping the righty can stay healthy and have the season in 2020 the reminds everyone why he was so highly touted coming out of high school.
