Number 61 on our countdown is Georgia Tech shortstop Luke Waddell.
The talented infielder was drafted in the 32nd round of the 2019 MLB Draft as a draft-eligible sophomore, but he decided to come back for another season.
In 2018 he hit .283 with a .348 OBP over 120 at-bats.
That summer he hit .243 in the Cape Cod League with a .318 OBP.
As a sophomore with the Yellow Jackets he hit .322 with a .436 OBP to go along with 57 runs scored, 12 doubles, 2 home runs, 34 RBI, and 7 stolen bases. He also walked 45 times while only striking out 22 times in 2019.
He was only able to play 6 games in the Cape Cod League this past summer as he split time with Team USA.
The 2020 season will be a big one for Waddell as he tries to improve his draft status. It would be nice to see him add a little more power to his game, but his plate discipline is already elite.
