Outfielder Jesse Franklin was taken in the 37th round of the 2017 MLB Draft by the Seattle Mariners but he decided to go to Michigan and was rewarded with a trip to the College World Series finals.

As a freshman in 2018 with Michigan he hit .327 with 31 runs scored, 11 doubles, 10 home runs, and 47 RBI.

He went to the Cape that summer and hit .302 with 17 runs, 2 home runs, and 17 RBI in 28 games.

This past Spring his average dropped to .252, but his OBP went up to .384 and he also scored 55 runs, had 13 doubles, hit 12 home runs, and drove in 49.

Franklin went back to the Cape Cod League this past summer and hit .282 with just 1 home run in 21 games.

The big lefty slugger has done just about everything he can do at the collegiate level. Now it’s just up to the scouts and how they view him at the next level.
