We’ll go from the 2019 College World Series hero to the 2018 hero in Oregon State pitcher Kevin Abel.
There is a chance Abel doesn’t throw a pitch in 2020 for Oregon State as he recovers from Tommy John surgery that he had this past Spring, but he’s still likely to go pretty high in the 2020 MLB Draft.
As a freshman in 2018 he posted a 2.88 ERA in 81 innings with 108 strikeouts and a WHIP of 1.19.
One of the most memorable moments from that 2018 season was him tossing a complete game, 2-hit shutout against Arkansas to clinch the College World Series title for the Beavers.

In 2019 he was only able to throw 16 innings but gave up just 8 hits with 25 strikeouts.
I really hope the right-handed pitcher gets to make a comeback with Oregon State in 2020, but more importantly, I just hope he gets healthy and pitching like he was before the injury.
