A familiar name comes in at 70 on our list in Stanford pitcher Brendan Beck.
His brother Tristan also pitched for Stanford and was a fourth-round pick in 2018 by the Atlanta Braves.
Brendan is on a similar pace after two solid seasons with Stanford.
In 2018 as a freshman he was 7-0 with a 2.40 ERA in 60 innings with a 1.07 WHIP, but he struck out only 37 batters.
That summer he threw 20 more innings in the West Coast Leauge and posted a 2.25 ERA with 25 strikeouts.
This past season at Stanford he had a 3.63 ERA in 91.2 innings with 83 strikeouts and a WHIP of 1.39.
While his strikeout numbers went up, his walk-rate increased from 1.8 to 2.45 BB/9. If he can master both, we’re looking at a first or second-round pitcher.
