Oral Roberts releases 2020 Schedule

TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts baseball team finalized its schedule for the 2020 season, which is highlighted by 27 home games and 15 games against 2019 NCAA tournament teams. The 55-game slate features five teams from Power Five conferences, totaling nine matchups, along with 30 games in Summit League play.

“We are very excited about our upcoming schedule,” said Head Coach Ryan Folmar. “It will be a very challenging nonconference portion of our schedule and our goal is to be prepared once we hit our conference opponents, we feel like this schedule will do that.”

For the fourth consecutive season, the Golden Eagles will open the 2020 campaign at J.L. Johnson Stadium, this time against first-year Division I program Merrimack College on Feb. 14-16.

Oral Roberts faces an early road test as the Golden Eagles travel south to Waco, Texas, on Feb. 21-23, to take on Big 12 opponent Baylor.

ORU returns to Tulsa to host Missouri State (Feb. 25), Incarnate Word (Feb. 28 – March 1) and Little Rock (March 3), before heading back to Texas for a three-game series at Dallas Baptist on March 6-8.

The Golden Eagles play its first six Summit League games at home beginning with South Dakota State (March 13-15), followed by North Dakota State (March 20-22), before traveling to Macomb, Ill., to take on Western Illinois (March 27-29). Mid-week games in Wichita, Kan., at Wichita State (March 17), at home against Central Arkansas (March 24) and at Arkansas (March 31) round out non-conference play in March.

April opens up with a three-game series in Brookings, S.D., at South Dakota State (April 3-5), followed by traveling to defending Summit League Champions, Omaha (April 10-11). ORU hosts Purdue Fort Wayne (April 17-19) and Western Illinois (April 24-26), while hosting mid-week home-and-home matchups with Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.

ORU begins the month of May on the road traveling to Fargo, N.D., for a three-game slate against North Dakota State (May 1-3), before facing Big Ten opponent Minnesota (May 4) and Missouri Valley member, Illinois State (May 6). The Golden Eagles play its final Summit League road series on May 8-10 at Purdue Fort Wayne, before hosting Wichita State (May 12) and Omaha (May 14-16) to finish off the 2020 regular season.

The 2020 Summit League Championships, presented by U.S. Air Force Special Warfare, is scheduled for May 20-23 in Omaha, Neb.
