The New York Yankees selected Steven Williams in the 35th round of the 2017 MLB Draft, but instead he kept his commitment to Auburn.
He quickly broke out as a freshman for Auburn hitting .291 with a .409 OBP in 65 games with 12 home runs, 54 runs scored, 51 RBI, and 10 doubles.
At that point he looked like a first-round pick in the 2020 MLB Draft.
But he took a step back in his sophomore season hitting just .241 with a .348 OBP to go along with 9 home runs, 39 runs, 36 RBI, and 7 doubles.
However, he did give us one of the greatest moments of the postseason with this walk-off home run.

It won’t take much for Williams to regain his draft value in 2020. He’s moved from catcher to the outfield and has a great arm in right field.
If he can get his average back to around .280 and hit double-digit home runs again, we could see him get back to being a Day 1 draft pick.
