We continue the countdown with number 88 on our list, which is Duke catcher Michael Rothenberg.
In 2018 he hit .253 with Duke in just 34 games with a couple of home runs and a .372 OBP.
He played in the Northwoods League that summer and hit .326 with 5 home runs in 175 at-bats.
Rothenberg followed that up with a very impressive sophomore season in which he hit .269 with 44 runs scored, 10 doubles, 11 home runs, 52 RBI, and an OBP of .390 as he did a much better job of taking walks.
He only got 55 at-bast in the Cape Cod League this past summer and didn’t hit great with a .200 average and zero home runs.
But the catcher did enough during the 2019 year to warrant entering the 2020 season as one of the top catchers in the country.
