2020 CBD TOP 100 COUNTDOWN: 91. MARIO CAMILLETTI (Oakland)

Oakland infielder Mario Camilletti comes in at 91 on our CBD Top 100 Countdown of college baseball’s top players.

As a freshman Camilletti made the Horizon League All-Freshman Team after leading the team in hits with 55 to go along with a .299 average while starting 47 games at second base.

That summer of 2018 he hit .285 in the Hamptons League with 19 runs, 8 doubles, 2 home runs, and 6 stolen bases in 123 at-bats.

In his sophomore season at Oakland he hit .306 with 32 runs, 10 doubles, 2 home runs, 25 RBI, and 10 stolen bases in 170 at-bats.

What was most impressive during his sophomore season is that he walked 47 times and only struck out 25 times with an OBP of .457.

He played in the Northwoods League this past summer and continued to show great discipline at the plate with 64 walks and just 24 strikeouts while hitting .307 with 50 runs, 9 doubles, 34 RBI, and 17 stolen bases in 261 at-bats.
