Kent State outfielder Ben Carew comes in at 93 on our CBD Top 100 Countdown after an impressive sophomore season.

Going back to his freshman season at Kent State, Carew played in just 20 games and hit .176.

That following summer he hit .248 in the Northwoods League over 101 at-bats.

But then he broke out as a sophomore with Kent State hitting .406 during the 2019 season with 60 runs scored and 24 stolen bases.

He also hit a couple of home runs and posted an OBP of .474 and OPS of .999.

Carew went back to the Northwoods League this past summer and did much better hitting .261 with a .344 OBP in 257 at-bats with 44 runs scored, 10 doubles, 2 home runs, and 17 stolen bases.

This is the type of player I love to watch as he makes a ton of contact. He has just 27 walks and 45 strikeouts in his 253 college at-bats.

I’m not sure how MLB scouts view him, but Carew seems like the ultimate college player.
