CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi baseball team has announced its 2020 schedule. This spring’s slate includes 56 games with 30 contests in Corpus Christi. The season gets underway on Friday, Feb. 14, against UT-Arlington in Arlington, Texas. The full schedule can be found HERE.
The Islanders will host Kansas State University on Thursday, Feb. 20, at Chapman Field for the 2020 home opener. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi will also play host to Utah (Feb. 21), K-State (Feb. 22) and Missouri (Feb. 23) that weekend at Whataburger Field. The University of Texas will visit Whataburger Field on Monday, April 13, for a 6:35 pm contest. The next night on April 14, the Islanders will head to Austin, Texas, to play the Longhorns at 6:35 p.m.
Other non-Southland highlights of the 2020 schedule include road games at Texas A&M (March 3) and Houston (April 22). The three-game South Texas Showdown, presented by NavyArmy Community Credit Union, will start at UTRGV in Edinburg, Texas, on Wednesday March 11. The second installment will take place at Chapman Field on Tuesday, March 17, with the final contest also being held in Corpus Christi on Tuesday, April 7.
The home schedule includes contests against Manhattan (Feb. 28-March 1), Incarnate Word (March 6-8), Nicholls (March 20-22), UTSA (March 24), Texas Southern (March 31), Lamar (April 9-11), McNeese (May 1-3), Grambling (May 8-10) and Sam Houston State (May 14-16).
The remainder of the road schedule includes trips to Prairie View (Feb. 25), UTSA (March 2), Houston Baptist (March 10), Abilene Christian (March 13-15), Central Arkansas (March 27-29), Houston Baptist (April 3-5), Stephen F. Austin (April 17-19), Southeastern La. (April 24-26) and Incarnate Word (April 28).
