The DBU Baseball team announced their schedule for the 2020 season on Monday. Featured on this year’s 54-game schedule are 30 home dates at Horner Ballpark, including the season opening series versus South Dakota State on February 14-16.
Coming off their sixth consecutive trip to the NCAA Regionals, the Patriots will face eight opponents that advanced to the postseason in 2019 including Baylor, Indiana State, Illinois State, North Carolina, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech.
DBU opens their Missouri Valley Conference schedule on March 27 in the series opener at Valparaiso. The Patriots first conference series at home comes against Southern Illinois (April 9-11). DBU will also face Missouri State and Evansville in three-game series at Horner Ballpark this year.
Outside of the Patriots’ conference schedule, DBU will also square-off against six teams from the Lone Star state in 2020 including a three-game road trip to Houston, as well as home-and-home midweek games against Baylor, TCU, and UT Arlington. The Patriots will also play host to Texas Tech and travel to Texas A&M in mid-week affairs.
Following the regular-season, DBU will travel to Carbondale, Illinois, for the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament (May 19 – 23).
