HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison head baseball coach Marlin Ikenberry released the Dukes’ 2020 baseball schedule, which begins on Friday, Feb. 14 at NC State.
The 56-game slate will feature three teams that made the NCAA Tournament, including two of those weekend series’ being at Veterans Memorial Park. Click here for the full schedule.
The Dukes open the season with a four-game road trip, heading to NC State to open the season, before taking a trip to Richmond for the first of two against the Spiders. JMU opens up the home schedule on Friday, Feb. 21, against NCAA Regional competitor and MAAC champion, Quinnipiac. The Bobcats defeated ECU in the first game of the Greenville Regional, before falling to the Pirates later in the week.
JMU continues their eight-game home stand with the first of two midweeks with VMI on Feb. 25, before hosting Rider University Feb. 28 – Mar. 1. The Dukes hit the road for a five-game stretch against High Point. The Dukes wrap up their home and home with VMI on Mar. 10, before heading to Maryland Mar. 11 for the first of two against the Terps.
JMU closes out its non-conference series with a four-game home stand with Niagara University, before hosting Norfolk State on Mar. 17.
CAA play opens on Mar. 20 with the Dukes traveling to Delaware this season. JMU will head to UVA on Mar. 24, before hosting CAA regular season champion Elon at Veterans Memorial Park.
The Dukes close out the home and home series against Richmond on Mar. 31, before heading to Charleston for the third CAA series of the year on Apr. 3. On Wednesday, Apr. 8 the Dukes travel to George Mason for the first of two meetings within in a week. JMU will host Northeastern Apr. 10 – 12, before welcoming in George Mason on Apr. 14.
On Apr. 15 the Dukes will travel to Virginia Tech to take on the Hokies for the first time since 2014. JMU will host William & Mary that week in CAA play before wrapping up the non-conference schedule. The Dukes will hit the road for 10 games spanning from Apr. 24 to May 10.
JMU will begin the road trip in Pittsburgh, Pa., facing off against ACC foe Pitt. The Dukes will then travel to Longwood for a midweek, before heading to Towson and Hofstra to conclude the road CAA series. James Madison wraps up the 2020 season hosting the 2019 CAA Champion UNCW, before heading to Wilmington for the 2020 Baseball Championship.
