COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State baseball team has set its 2020 schedule, head coach Greg Beals announced Tuesday. The 2019 Big Ten Tournament champions will play 24 home games at Nick Swisher Field at Bill Davis Stadium and the Buckeyes will play 20 games against eight NCAA Tournament teams from a season ago.
“I am excited about the progress of this team throughout fall ball,” Beals said. “We have a lot of work still to do in order to chase a 2020 championship. We have put together a challenging schedule that will definitely prepare us for conference and postseason play.”
Ohio State, which begins the season with its first 14 games on the road, opens the season at the Snowbird Classic in Port Charlotte, Fla., with contests against St. Joseph’s, Pittsburgh and Indiana State Feb. 14-16 before a three-game set at Georgia Tech Feb. 21-23. The Buckeyes return to Nashville for a three-game series at Lipscomb Feb. 28-March 1 and closes their early-season road swing in the Sunshine State, playing Stetson, Harvard and Fairfield at the Stetson Invitational March 6-8 before a pair of games at North Florida March 10-11.
Ohio State opens its home slate against Liberty March 13-15 before road contest at Wright State March 17 and the Big Ten-opening home series against Rutgers March 20-22. After taking on Bowling Green March 25 in Columbus, the Buckeyes hit the road to close March at Indiana March 27-29.
Non-conference home games against Toledo April 1 and Morehead State April 7 are sandwiched around a Big Ten home series against Michigan State April 3-5. The Buckeyes then travel to Ann Arbor to square off with Michigan April 10-12 before returning home for the rest of the month to take on Dayton April 15, Illinois April 17-19, The Citadel April 24-26 and Miami (Ohio) April 29.
May opens with a three-game set at Nebraska May 1-3 before a home game against Ohio May 5 and a game at Cincinnati May 6. The Buckeyes then close their home schedule with a three-game series against Maryland May 8-10 before wrapping up the regular season at Xavier May 12 and Northwestern May 14-16.
The Big Ten Tournament returns to Omaha, Neb. May 20-24 at TD Ameritrade Park.
