Baseball is still one of the major sports that many Americans love and college baseball is a key part of the sports set-up. Along with the minor leagues, college baseball is the perfect training ground for young players to develop their game. Collegiate baseball is always a popular draw with fans who like the chance to support their local team and see some of the big future stars while they are still moving up through the game.

The 2019 season is now underway after starting in February 2019. As the games rush by toward season end in June 2019, it gives all fans a chance to see some of the star performers in college baseball. Many of these are expected to go onto bigger things and make the transition to professional major league teams after finishing college.

Back the college stars to help their teams succeed

Many followers of college baseball will use this player knowledge to their advantage by betting on games. With online betting now legal in many US states, if you know one team has a star player in great form playing then you can back them with full confidence to do well overall or win the game. If you really want to back a certain player to make money, you could even bet on them to make it into a major league team next season!

Just make sure you get the best odds at the online casino or sportsbook you use, so you will get more back in return. If you have never tried online gambling before then it is nothing to be scared of – to get started why not try out playing some fun slot games first before moving onto sports betting? Make sure to use a casino that gives out a good welcome bonus though, so you have more to play with. The Chumba Casino first deposit bonus is particularly good and worth taking up.

Which college baseball stars are expected to shine in 2019?

Although the season has already started, the below are the players expected to shine overall by the time it ends.

Adley Rutschman

Probably the number 1 prospect for many is this seriously talented hitter from Oregon State. Last year he returned figures of .408/.505/.628 for the Beaver’s which is pretty special. Many expect him to show similar form over the course of this season and carry on his progress in the future to greater things. What is pleasing about this player is that he always seems to be working on his game to improve which is what will set him apart in a year or two’s time. With better contact and power reported on his hits, he looks like a real talent.

Andrew Vaughn

Playing for California, this is another very offensive mined batter who looks set to move on from college baseball to greater things eventually. To show how talented Vaughn is, he won the Golden Spikes award last year as national player of the year. A .402 batting average had him ranked third highest in his college’s history books to boot. With 23 home runs to his name last season and a low strikeout rate, much is expected of him this time around and in the future.

Shea Langeliers

Another top college baseball prospect that many think will eventually go pro is this ace defensive catcher. Now into his third year at college, Langeliers started this season as the best defensive catcher around, with 23 out of 33 base stealers in 2018. When you add in his .994 fielding percentage, then it looks very promising. All we can hope is that he stays injury free and in the same form for the rest of his college career. This should see him move into the Major leagues and showcase his talents on the bigger stage.

Austin Martin

Playing for Vanderbilt, Martin is a very versatile player which makes him handy for his college team. With an impressive 58 starts last season, you can only assume he will carry on in the same fashion during this season as well. Interestingly, he played in 6 different positions last year and stole 22 bases while about it. Many think this sort of flexibility and skillset will see him move onto greater things eventually.

Keep an eye on how 2019 pans out

With the 2019 season still in its infancy, it is hard to say for sure if the above players will live up to the hype come the end of it. What is certain though is that, if they can stay injury free, they will continue to be key players for their college teams. All the players we have looked at have enough talent to move into the pro leagues – only time will tell if it happens.
