I put Andrew Vaughn number one because even though he may not be the top prospect in the country, he’s the most exciting player in college baseball.
He has put up monster numbers in two seasons, and he won the 2018 Golden Spikes award after an incredible 2018 season.
As a sophomore he hit .349 in 218 at-bats with 36 runs scored, 7 doubles, 12 home runs, 50 RBI, and a .414 on-base percentage.
He shattered those impressive numbers in 2018 by hitting .402 in 199 at-bats with 59 runs scored, 14 doubles, 23 home runs, 63 RBI, and a .531 on-base percentage.
This past summer he hit 5 home runs in just 52 at-bats in the Cape Cod League, while also spending time with the US Collegiate National team.
The right-handed first baseman is can’t miss television. Let’s just hope his Cal team has a better 2019 so Vaughn gets the national attention he deserves.
Congrats to Vaughn on being number one on our list, and congrats to everyone who made the countdown this year.
