After a great sophomore season, North Carolina first baseman Michael Busch has turned himself into a top hitter in the country.

As a freshman he hit just .215 in 135 at-bats with 21 runs scored, 8 doubles, 3 home runs, 22 RBI, and a .349 on-base percentage.

That summer he hit .291 in the Northwoods over 148 at-bats with 31 runs scored, 17 doubles, 4 home runs, 28 RBI, and a .426 on-base percentage.

The power numbers increased as a sophomore with 13 long balls, while hitting .317 over 240 at-bats with 70 runs scored, 10 doubles, 63 RBI, 8 stolen bases, and a .465 on-base percentage.

He backed that up with a good showing in the Cape Cod League hitting .322 over 90 at-bats with 19 runs scored, 4 doubles, 6 home runs, 17 RBI, and a .450 on-base percentage.

The left-handed first baseman has really improved his game and enters his junior season riding high.
