We don’t discriminate in our countdown going to the Big South conference for number 22 on this list in Campbell outfielder Matthew Barefoot.
As a freshman in 2017 he hit .335 for Campbell over 227 at-bats with 42 runs scored, 22 doubles, 8 home runs, 49 RBI, 7 stolen bases, and a .400 on-base percentage.
He became even more dominant as a player stealing 33 bases as a sophomore, while hitting .364 with 58 runs scored, 18 doubles, 8 home runs, 32 RBI, and a .484 on-base percentage.
Just to prove those numbers weren’t a product of his environment, he went to the Cape Cod League this past summer and dominated. There he hit .379 over 140 at-bats with 24 runs scored, 9 doubles, 3 home runs, 26 RBI, 6 stolen bases, and a .474 on-base percentage.
Now that he’s proven he can hit good pitching, he just has to go out and keep doing what he’s been doing in his junior season with Campbell.
