Sometimes known as the other pitcher for Stetson behind Logan Gilbert, lefty Mitchell Senger is a top prospect in his own right.
His collegiate career got off to a slow start with an 8.15 ERA in 17.2 innings pitched as a freshman in 2017.
That summer he had a 4.91 ERA in 18.1 innings pitched in the New England Collegiate League.
He burst onto the map as a sophomore by posting a 2.51 ERA in 92 innings pitched with 114 strikeouts and a WHIP of 1.01.
Things didn’t go quite as well in the summer as he posted an ERA of 9.30 in the Cape Cod League over 20.1 innings pitched with 19 strikeouts.
He also pitched for the US Collegiate National Team this past summer.
Scouts will certainly want to see Senger repeat his sophomore success this spring after a disappointing summer.
But the lefty has the tools and ability to keep those strikeouts up and become a high draft pick.
