UC Irvine right-handed pitcher Andre Pallante might have had one of the most impressive seasons in 2018 that you didn’t hear about.
There wasn’t much spectacular about his freshman season when he posted a 4.53 ERA in 47.2 innings pitched with 56 strikeouts and a WHIP of 1.70.
But he had a solid summer in the Cape Cod League with a 1.20 ERA in 15 innings pitched with 15 strikeouts and a WHIP of 0.93.
That led to a breakout sophomore season in which he was 10-1 on the mound with a 1.60 ERA in 101 innings pitched with 115 strikeouts and a WHIP of 1.06.
Pallante will need to go out and prove that 2018 wasn’t a fluke in his junior year, but if he can repeat those numbers he’ll fly up the draft boards.
