AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts baseball and head coach Matt Reynolds released the squad’s 2019 regular season schedule on Monday. A 52-game slate sits ahead for the Minutemen, who will open up their second campaign under Reynolds’ guidance on the weekend of Feb. 22-24 with a three-game series against Central Connecticut.
Spring break will take the Maroon and White to Texas for matchups at UT Rio Grande Valley (March 8-10), Incarnate Word (March 12) and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (March 13). The team will then head east to Georgia for a three-game set with Kennesaw State (March 15-17).
After traveling to in-state rival Holy Cross for a March 19 game, UMass will open Atlantic 10 play at VCU from March 22-24. That leads up to the first of 18 home contests as UAlbany visits Earl Lorden Field on March 26.
The 30th annual Baseball Beanpot begins on April 2 with an Opening Round trip to Boston College. The stage will then move to Fenway Park on April 17 for the Championship and Consolation games.
A pair of special contests at Earl Lorden Field await the Minutemen during the Atlantic 10 schedule. In conjunction with the April 13 game against George Washington, UMass will host Little League Day. On May 4 vs. Davidson, the program will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 1969 squad that reached the College World Series. Additional details regarding both of these events are forthcoming and will be shared once finalized.
Fordham will host the 2019 Atlantic 10 Baseball Championship from May 22-25 at Houlihan Park.
