THE FLATS – Highlighted by nine weekend series and six home midweek matchups at Russ Chandler Stadium, Georgia Tech head baseball coach Danny Hall announced its 55-game slate for the 2019 season on Thursday.

“Our 2019 schedule will be one of our most challenging schedules ever,” Hall said. “Thirty-three home games with non-conference series against UCLA, Northwestern, Western Carolina, and midweek series with Georgia, Auburn, Mercer, Georgia Southern, Georgia State and Kennesaw State. I have always believed that to be the best you have to play the best and win. Buckle your seatbelt in the Ramblin’ Wreck, here it comes. Embrace the target!”

The preseason 17th-ranked Yellow Jackets return seven starters from last season and boast one of the strongest pitching staffs in the nation heading into the 2019 campaign.

Chase MurrayOscar Serratos and Kyle McCann help return 70 percent of Tech’s run production in an offense that led the ACC regular season in both hitting percentage and hits. Xzavion CurryConnor Thomas and Tristin English are just three of the highly talented arms on a staff that only bolstered its depth after leading the ACC in walks/9.0 innings and strikeout-to-walk ratio last year.
