The Futures League is mired in a lawsuit with current team Martha’s Vineyard who is looking to leave and move over to the NECBL for the upcoming summer. The Futures League wants the franchise to pay a $100,000 exit fee and not play for two years as per the contract. Martha’s Vineyard’s franchise has replied that they never signed a contract with the Futures League and shouldn’t have to pay the fees.
