One of the best stories of the 2018 season was Ole Miss closer Parker Caracci. The right-handed pitcher redshirted his first two season with the Rebels before bursting onto the college baseball map in 2018.

In 2016 he pitched in the Perfect Game League and had an ERA of 0.78 over 23 innings pitched with 37 strikeouts, 7 saves, and a WHIP of 1.04.

The next summer he pitched in the Cal Ripkin League where he racked up 5 saves and a 0.70 ERA over 38.2 innings pitched with 48 strikeouts and a 0.73 WHIP.

Ole Miss finally got to see him in action in the spring as he posted a 2.25 ERA over 48 innings pitched in 2018 with 73 strikeouts, 10 saves, and a WHIP of 1.08.

He earned all kinds of accolades after the 2018 season and was invited to play for the USA Collegiate Team this past summer.

Caracci was also taken in the 37th round of the 2018 MLB Draft by the Toronto Blue Jays, but decided to return to Oxford for at least one more season.

I’m glad we get another year of Caracci, and we hope to see his success continue after having to wait for so long.
