EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern announced its 2019 schedule, head coach Spencer Allen announced Wednesday.
The season brings 21 games to Rocky and Berenice Miller Park, as well as trips to 2018 Duke, Kent State, Georgia Tech, and Missouri.
The Wildcats begin their season in Mesa, Arizona, with three games against BYU (February 15-16) and one game against California (Feb. 17). Following their trip out west, the ‘Cats travel to Duke for a three-game series against the Blue Devils (Feb. 22-24) who are coming off a 45-win season and a NCAA super regionals appearance. Chicago’s Big Ten Team then continues its competition against the ACC with a visit to Atlanta (March 1-3) to take on Georgia Tech.
The #B1GCats will play their home opener on March 5th against crosstown-foe UIC, before heading back on the road for a series at Missouri.
Northwestern will welcome five more non-conference opponents to Miller Park throughout 2019, including San José State (March 29-31), Chicago State (April 2), and Notre Dame (May 14).
The Wildcats kick off Big Ten play with a home series against Purdue (March 22-24). Other home conference matchups include series against Maryland (April 12-14) and Nebraska (May 4-6). Northwestern will travel to Ohio State (April 5-7), Michigan (April 19-21), Michigan State (April 26-28), and Rutgers (May 10-12) for its league road matchups.
The Wildcats’ regular season will conclude by hosting Minnesota (May 16-18) who won 44 games and made the NCAA Super Regionals in 2018.
The Big Ten Tournament begins May 23 in Omaha, Nebraska.
