Illinois infielder Michael Massey has put together two solids seasons and looks to build upon that in his junior season.
As a freshman in 2017 he hit .330 with a .360 on-base percentage over 209 at-bats with 22 runs scored, 12 doubles, 6 home runs, and 36 RBI.
He earned Freshman All-American honors for his work in 2017.
In 2018 he hit .326 for Illinois over 218 at-bats with 34 runs scored, 17 doubles, 6 home runs, 46 RBI, and a .369 on-base percentage.
Those numbers earned him an invite to the Cape Cod League this past summer where he hit a respectable .280 over 82 at-bats with a .337 on-base percentage.
The 6-foot, 180 pound infielder doesn’t have much left to prove at the collegiate level. The lefty should have another solid year for the Illinois.
