A 30th round draft pick by the Boston Red Sox out of high school in 2016, Tyler Fitzgerald has become the centerpiece of the Louisville offense.

As a freshman he hit .208 in just 125 at-bats, and then hit just .169 in the Cape Code League. That certainly was not the start to his collegiate career he was hoping for.

But the 6-foot-3, 185-pound shortstop had a solid sophomore season at Louisville hitting .264 over 245 at-bats with 57 runs scored and 23 stolen bases.

He followed that up with a solid summer back at Cape Cod where he hit .298 in 171 at-bats with 28 runs scored and 9 stolen bases to go along with a .370 on-base percentage.

He has the size and range to stick at shortstop. Offensively, he just needs to get on base more. A fast runner, Fitzgerald can create havoc on the basepaths.

This will be a huge year in his development to see if he takes another leap forward.
