BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell University baseball will play all 53 of its games during the 2019 season within a three-state radius – North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia, including 25 games at Jim Perry Stadium. Campbell’s schedule also features nine games against 2018 NCAA Tournament teams – Coastal Carolina, ECU, NC State, Duke, North Carolina and UNCW.
Campbell’s home slate includes four midweek contests and seven weekend series. On Wednesday, Feb. 20, Campbell will open its home campaign against ECU, before hosting Georgetown for its first home series, Feb. 22-24. CU will also play host to Fairfield on Mar. 1-3.
The Camels will play home-and-away games against in-state foes ECU (Feb. 20, May 14), NC State (Feb. 27, May 7), NC Central (Mar. 13, Apr. 3) and UNCW (Apr. 2, Apr. 24). Other in-state non-conference contests feature trips to Duke (Mar. 20), North Carolina (Mar. 26), UNC Greensboro (Apr. 16) and Elon (Apr. 9).
Campbell’s home non-conference matchups include Fairfield (Mar. 1-3), NC State (Feb. 27), NC Central (Mar. 13) and UNCW (Apr. 2).
Opening Day for the 2019 season is set for Feb. 15 in Conway, S.C. The Camels will open the Brittain Resorts Baseball at the Beach tournament against Maryland at 11 a.m. before taking on VCU (Feb. 16), and former Big South foe Coastal Carolina (Feb. 17).
Over spring break, the Camels will head to Virginia to face Old Dominion (Mar. 5-7) and William & Mary (Mar. 8-10).
Campbell opens Big South action at High Point in a weekend series on Mar. 15-17. Campbell’s home conference opener will be on Mar. 22-24 versus UNC Asheville.
The Camels will host league foes Presbyterian (Mar. 29-31), Radford (Apr. 12-14), Charleston Southern (May 3-5) and Longwood (May 16-18). Trips to Gardner-Webb (Apr. 5-7), USC Upstate (Apr. 18-20), Winthrop (May 10-12) round-out CU’s conference road match-ups.
The 2018 Big South Championship will be played in Fayetteville and is set for May 21-26.
Campbell baseball is coming off its third appearance in the NCAA Tournament as the Camels swept the Big South regular season and tournament titles for the first time in program history. The Camels had eight all-conference honorees, the most since 2013, and racked up 21 wins, a program-record in conference play.
