Ole Miss right-handed pitcher Will Ethridge was taken in the 35th round of the 2016 MLB Draft by the Seattle Mariners before beginning his career in Oxford, Miss.
As a freshman in 2017 he posted a 2.41 ERA in 41 innings pitched with 50 strikeouts and a WHIP of 1.05.
He backed that up with a strong summer in the Cape Cod League by posting a 1.29 ERA in 14 innings pitched with 12 strikeouts and a 1.21 WHIP.
Coming strictly out of the bullpen as a sophomore, he had a 3.91 ERA in 50.2 innings pitched with 52 strikeouts and a 1.24 WHIP.
That backslide continue into the summer when he gave up 10 earned runs in just 9.2 innings pitched with 9 strikeouts and a WHIP of 2.17.
Now he enters the 2019 season looking to rebound and prove why he is one of the most talented players in the country.
It sounds like he had a great fall, which is a good sign for Ole Miss, and I expect him to be a big part of the pitching staff this year.
