3.1K After being drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the 33rd round of the 2016 MLB Draft, Blake Sabol chose to keep his commitment to USC. The 6-foot-4, 190 pound catcher hit .267 as a freshman in just 90 at-bats with one home run. He played in the Cape Cod League that summer and hit just .177 in 113 at-bats with 2 home runs. Sabol became the Trojans primary catcher as a sophomore and hit .276 in 210 at-bats with 29 runs scored, 8 doubles, 4 home runs, 24 RBI, and 8 stolen bases. He was invited back to the Cape Cod League this past summer and went off by hitting .340 over 103 at-bats with 28 runs scored, 7 home runs, 22 RBI, 14 stolen bases, and a .445 on-base percentage. It was a breakout performance for the right-handed throwing (he hits left-handed) catcher, and expectations will certainly be high as he enters his junior season at USC.
