TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama baseball team and head coach Brad Bohannon announced the remainder of the 2019 schedule on Wednesday morning. The non-conference slate features 26 total games in addition to the 30 Southeastern Conference matchups released earlier during the fall.
The Crimson Tide will start the new season with 10 consecutive home games at Sewell-Thomas Stadium, beginning with a three-game set against Presbyterian on opening weekend from Feb. 15-17. Following the series with the Blue Hose, Alabama will host a pair of in-state foes for single midweek matchups against Jacksonville State (Feb. 19) and Alabama State (Feb. 20). The Tide will then host Ball State from Feb. 22-24 for its second weekend series of the 2019 campaign and will complete the homestand with a two-game set against North Alabama from Feb. 26-27.
Alabama will then take to the road for the first time, heading to Mobile for a weekend series with South Alabama from March 1-3 to kick off the new month. After the trip down south, the Tide will return home to host UAB for a Tuesday game on March 5 before playing a home series against Northern Kentucky from March 8-10. Alabama will host its final non-conference foe before the start of SEC play as Middle Tennessee will travel to Tuscaloosa on March 12.
Mixed in with conference pairings are three single home games at The Joe against Maine (March 19), Troy (April 2) and Samford (May 14). Alabama will also square off on the road at Samford (April 9), UAB (April 16), Jacksonville State (April 24) and Troy (May 8) in midweek matchups.
In addition to the traditional out-of-conference slate, Alabama and Auburn will once again compete in the annual MAX Capital City Classic at Riverwalk Stadium in Montgomery with the single non-conference pairing of the two rivals set for March 26.
