OMAHA, Neb. – Oregon State moved within a game of the College World Series Finals with a 12-2 win over Mississippi State Friday afternoon in Omaha, Neb.
The Beavers (52-11-1) will now face a rematch with the Bulldogs (39-28) on Saturday. The game will begin at either 12 p.m. or 5 p.m. PT and will air on ESPN.
Oregon State recorded 15 hits in the contest, compared to five for Mississippi State. OSU has now scored at least 11 runs in each of its last three games.
The Beavers jumped out to an early 6-1 lead, powered by a five-run second inning. Mississippi State got one back in the third, but Oregon State tacked on another in the fourth to bring the advantage back to five.
After a pair of scoreless innings, OSU broke the game open in the seventh, scoring four runs to extend the lead to nine. The Beavers added one more in the eighth to take the win by double-figures.
Trevor Larnach posted another big game, recording three hits, three RBIs and two runs scored. Nick Madrigal also notched three hits, knocking in two runs and scoring twice. Kyle Nobach and Jack Anderson tallied two hits apiece, while Zak Taylorreached base three times, including a two-RBI triple.
Brandon Eisert threw 5 1/3 innings, allowing just one hit to earn the victory after entering in relief. Bryce Fehmel got the start, allowing two runs in 3 2/3 innings.

Oregon State will have a rematch with Mississippi State Saturday, with first pitch coming at either 12 p.m. or 5 p.m. PT. The winner of Saturday’s contest will advance to the College World Series Finals.

The victory was Oregon State’s 52nd of the season, matching the 2013 squad for the second-most wins in program history. The Beavers’ wins record is 56, set last season.
