The Columbia Lions picked up a marathon 15 inning victory in Game 2 of the Ivy League Championship Series to win the conference title and advance to the NCAA Tournament for their fourth NCAA berth in the last six seasons under head coach Brett Boretti. The game started out looking to be a slugfest as Yale lead-off hitter Teddy Hague scored the first run of the game in the first inning while Columbia responded in the second inning tying up the game. The two teams would be held off the board until the 15th inning when Columbia loaded up the bases with one out and Joe Engel was able to hit a sacrifice fly to center field to bring home Ben Porter for the rare walk-off victory at Yale Field as Columbia was the “home” team for the game.
