2018 SEC Baseball Tournament: Florida Wins Rematch Over LSU

After crushing LSU’s dreams in the College World Series last year, Florida was ready for the revenge game as they beat the Tigers 4-3 in game seven of the 2018 SEC Baseball Tournament.

Freshman starting pitcher Tommy mace was masterful for Florida giving up 3 runs (1 earned) over 7 innings on 3 hits and a walk with 4 strikeouts.

The Gators did the majority of their damage on offense in the third with an RBI double by Deacon Liput, followed by an RBI groundout by Nelson Maldonado, capped off with an RBI single by Jonathan India.

Austin Langworthy would bring home the eventual game-winning run with an RBI single in the fifth.

Florida is a firm national seed even without this win, while LSU is essentially a lock for the NCAA Tournament now, so this game doesn’t have much significance towards the postseason. But you wouldn’t know it with how emotional this game was on the field and in the stands.
