In a game they desperately needed, Texas A&M opened up the 2018 SEC Baseball Tournament with a 3-1 win over Vanderbilt. Senior Kaylor Chafin was clutch for the Aggies coming out of a rain delay in the second to wind up going six innings, allowing just 1 earned run on 6 hits and 1 walk with 5 strikeouts.
Michael Helman got it done at the plate for Texas A&M with 2 hits and an RBI. He also gave the Aggies the lead in the fifth. After reaching on a fielder’s choice, a run came around to score on an error.
