Randon Jernigan and Will Bowdoin have been partners on the baseball field for most of their lives, so it is only appropriate that the seniors from Glynn Academy have signed their national letters of intent to play baseball at college level simultaneously.
Jernigan will be headed off to the University of Georgia in order to further his athletic career, while Bowdoin is set to start attending Mercy University.
Friends Since Before School
Bowdoin stated that he and Jernigan had known one another since they were 5- or 6-years old, having played together since way back then. He then spoke of it being a happy stroke of luck, with this history in mind, that they were able to sign alongside one another on the same day, at the same school, and in the same place.
Jernigan Picked Baseball Over Football
Jernigan is also the quarterback for the Red Terror football team, and he had offers for football and baseball, but he chose the latter because of his upside in the game. He said that he felt that his ceiling was slightly higher as a baseball player, and that his choosing Georgia to play out was a given. After all, he said, what Georgia boy didn’t dream of playing at Georgia?
Former Glynn Academy and current Frederica Academy Coach, Greg Roberts, spoke of how good Jernigan was on base, adding that the team was a robust one overall, and the Jernigan was their offensive catalyst.
Furthermore, finally putting pen to paper now allows the young man to focus his full attention on current games, and he said that he had long been anticipating this day. As punters on the hunt for the best AFL betting odds will know full well, getting things over and done with so that one can pay attention to the moment one is in is a relief, and can be compared to finally finding odds that are going to get you some good returns, placing your wager, and sitting back to watch the action unfold!
Rocky Hidalgo Says That Jernigan Has the It Factor
Rocky Hidalgo, coach for the Glynn football team, has said that Jernigan has the It factor that all great athletes share, and stated that everyone knew that he was going to make a big play. He added that this was not something that could be taught or coached, that one simply had it or did not, and that Jernigan had been blessed with this ability not just with baseball but with football too.
While the ceremony was underway, Hidalgo also spoke of his attempts at recruiting Bowdoin to the football field, having seen him play and noticed the effort the young man puts out in the weight room. He stated that Bowdoin was an excellent athlete, and although he was sometimes overshadowed by Jernigan’s speed, he was pretty fast himself. He added that he was an extraordinary young man who had no doubt made his parents very proud.
