FORT WORTH – TCU baseball head coach Jim Schlossnagle has announced the 2018 baseball schedule, and the 54-game slate is comprised of 31 home contests, 22 road games and one neutral site match-up.
The schedule features 26 games against 10 teams that participated in the 2017 NCAA postseason.
The Horned Frogs are coming off their fourth straight appearance in the College World Series and finished the 2017 campaign ranked. No. 4 nationally. Along the way, TCU claimed its second Big 12 regular-season championship.
For the first time since the 2013 season, the Horned Frogs will open the season on the road. TCU will help Grand Canyon University usher in its new baseball stadium when the 2018 campaign begins Feb. 16 in Phoenix.
Following the three-game series at Grand Canyon, TCU will open up a four-game homestand against UT Arlington on Tuesday, Feb. 20. A three-game set against NCAA Super Regional participant Long Beach State (Feb. 23-25) will conclude the homestand.
A brief midweek road contest at UT Arlington (Feb. 27) will close out the first month of the season.
Another four-game homestand opens March as UC Irvine makes the journey to Lupton Stadium March 2-4. The homestand concludes March 6 with a midweek contest against UT Rio Grande Valley.
TCU will head to California for the Dodger Classic featuring USC, UCLA and Vanderbilt. It’ll mark TCU’s second appearance in the tournament (2015). The Frogs will face off against the Trojans (March 9) at Dedeaux Field. On Saturday, March 10, TCU will head across town to take on the Bruins at Jackie Robinson Stadium. The weekend concludes March 11 when the Frogs take on Vanderbilt at Dodger Stadium. TCU will wrap up the road swing Tuesday, March 13 at Rice.
A season-best eight game home stand begins March 16 when TCU hosts Minnesota for a trio of contests. Arkansas-Pine Bluff heads to Lupton Stadium on March 20. Big 12 play commences March 23 when the Frogs host Kansas State. The homestand concludes March 27 against Dallas Baptist.
TCU will hit the road for the first time in Big 12 play on March 29 when it starts a three-game set at Oklahoma State. The road trip concludes April 3 at Dallas Baptist.
Oklahoma will travel to Fort Worth April 6-8 followed by a midweek contest to conclude the season series against UT Arlington on April 10.
Back-to-back weekends on the road wrap around a Tuesday, April 17 home contest against Abilene Christian. First up is a trip to Kansas April 13-15 followed by a series April 20-22 at Baylor.
TCU will play 10 of its next 11 games at home starting Tuesday, April 24 against Stephen F. Austin. Texas Tech makes its way to Lupton Stadium April 27-29.
The month of May begins with a trip to Abilene Christian on May 1. Back-to-back homestands follow with a nonconference series against Lamar (May 4-6) followed by a Big 12 series against West Virginia (May 11-13).
TCU concludes the regular season with four straight road games starting May 15 at Stephen F. Austin, and a three-game set at Texas May 17-19 brings the regular season to a close.
The Big 12 Championships returns to Oklahoma City and Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The tournament is slated for May 23-27.
