HANOVER, N.H. — Dartmouth baseball head coach Bob Whalen announced the hiring of Andy Revell as an assistant coach for the Big Green this season. Revell will coach the infielders and help eight-year veteran assistant Jonathan Anderson coach the hitters.
Revell comes to Dartmouth after two years working as a post-graduate assistant coach at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. There he served as the hitting coach and was responsible for in-game offensive strategy, base running and infield defense. Revell also assisted with recruiting as well as video analysis of all of the academy baseball players.
A 2011 graduate of he University of Montevallo in Alabama, Revell earned his degree in kinesiology and health promotion. He led the team in doubles and RBIs during the 2009 season, then captained the squad the following year.
Revell began his coaching career as a graduate assistant coach at West Alabama for two years while earning his master’s in physical education. Among his duties with the Tigers were working with the infielders and assisting in hitting, recruiting, strength and conditioning and field maintenance while serving as the third-base coach and administering on-campus recruiting tours.
Starting in the summer of 2012, Revell was hired as the head coach for the Licking County Settlers in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League for three years, plus took on the general manager duties in 2014-15.
Upon departing West Alabama, he took an assistant coaching job for a season at Gulf Coast State College in Panama City Beach, Florida, for the 2014 campaign, then served as a volunteer assistant coach at Xavier the following year.
