GAINESVILLE, Fla.–Florida baseball fans looking to make plans for the spring can mark their calendars.
The 2018 schedule has been released in full, with opening weekend set for Feb. 16-18 against Siena at McKethan Stadium.
The home schedule features 34 games with five Southeastern Conference series’ on tap. In 10 seasons under head coach Kevin O’Sullivan, UF holds a 296-84 (.779) record at McKethan Stadium.
Florida will travel to Miami for a weekend series in Week 2 and wrap up non-conference play at home against Stony Brook (March 2-4) and Rhode Island (March 9-11). The Gators begin league play on the road at South Carolina (March 16-18).
Series’ against Arkansas, Vanderbilt, Missouri, Auburn and Georgia make up the SEC home schedule. In addition to South Carolina, UF will make road trips to Tennessee, Kentucky, Texas A&M and Mississippi State.
The annual “Fresh from Florida” Sunshine Showdown against in-state rival Florida State has three dates: March 13 in Gainesville, March 27 at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville and April 10 in Tallahassee.
The Gators begin fall practice next Wednesday, Oct. 11. A weekly schedule with times and pitchers will be posted each week throughout fall practice.
