EASTON, Pa. – Lafayette head baseball coach Joe Kinney has announced a new addition to his staff for the 2018 season with Tim Reilly coming aboard as an assistant.
Reilly joins the Leopards staff after successful Division I stops as an assistant at Rider University and most recently as an assistant coach recruiting coordinator at Rutgers University.
“I am extremely excited to announce that Tim Reilly will be joining the Lafayette baseball program as an assistant coach,” Kinney said. “Tim brings a wealth of experience in college baseball from his time at Rutgers University and Rider University. Having an assistant coach who was a recruiting coordinator in the Big 10 Conference adds instant credibility to our staff and will enhance our program. Tim has an outstanding reputation in college baseball both in the Northeast and throughout the country.”
Reilly, a Rutgers graduate, spent the last five seasons on the bench with the Scarlet Knights, overseeing their recruiting efforts, while also working with the catchers and developing their offensive approach. During his time there, Reilly also opened his own business, Catching College LLC.
While at Rider from 2010 to 2011, Reilly served as an assistant while working on the development of the program’s pitchers and catchers. He also had a quick stop with the Monmouth Monarchs amateur team in Middletown, N.J., where he served as the head coach for their summer season in 2012.
During his playing career, Reilly was a four-year letter winning catcher, helping the Scarlet Knights capture the Big East Regular Season and Tournament Championships during the 2007 season, while also tying a program record with 42 wins. For his efforts in the 2007 season, Reilly was named to the Big East Conference 2007-08 Academic All-Star Team.
