South Alabama Summer Update

MOBILE, Ala. – Seven current University of South Alabama baseball student-athletes are closing play or have wrapped up play in their respective summer leagues.

Brendan Donovan has played in 25 games with the Hyannis Harbor Hawks of the Cape Cod Baseball League. Donovan is batting .143 with two doubles, two home runs, eight RBI and 10 runs scored. Donovan and the Harbor Hawks will close the 2017 CCBL regular season on Thu., Aug. 3, against Falmouth.

Dylan Hardy batted .333 with four doubles, one triple, 11 RBI, 19 runs scored and 11 stolen bases while posting a .418 on-base percentage in 23 games with the Front Royal Cardinals in the Valley Baseball League. Hardy hit safely in six of his final seven games with Front Royal, all of which were multiple-hit contests.

Lafayette announces Class of 2021

EASTON, Pa. – The Lafayette baseball program announced the additions of seven student-athletes to the Class of 2021 on Wednesday morning.

“We are excited to welcome our 2017 recruiting class to College Hill,” head coach Joe Kinney said. “This group of young men will fill our needs on the field left by our 2016 graduating seniors and provides depth at all positions.”

Jacob McNairy commits to Alabama

From the time he was a little boy, Jacob McNairy has wanted to wear the crimson and white as an athlete at the University of Alabama.

Monday evening, McNairy’s dream came true.

McNairy, a rising senior pitcher and second baseman at Athens High School, announced his commitment to the Crimson Tide baseball program on Monday evening via Twitter. He had called new Alabama head coach Brad Bohannon to make his commitment earlier in the day.
