HOUSTON — After over a five-hour rain delay, Houston Baseball was able to survive its second elimination game of the Houston Regional with a thrilling 7-5 win over No. 4 seed Iowa, highlighted by a ninth-inning leadoff home run from Connor Wong on Sunday night at Schroeder Park.
With the victory, the Cougars improved to 42-20 on the year and moved to 2-1 on the weekend to keep their season alive. Iowa has been eliminated from NCAA play and wraps its season with a 39-22 record.
